ABOUT ILYO TAEKWONDO NAROOMA
Our Story
Since our founding in 2012 ilyo Taekwondo Narooma has had the opportunity to help countless students acquire foundational life and physical skills, develop new techniques and confidently move forward in their learning journey.
Ilyo tkd club first started under Paul Cooper in 1985 in the Barossa Valley, South Australia.
Zoe Cooper grew up practicing tkd and after seeing a need for a club on the south coast, Ilyo tkd Narooma was founded in 2012. And is now Head Instructor of ilyo Narooma.
After the passing of Paul Cooper in 2016, ilyo Barossa was handed down to Miss Duan Maguire who now acts as the head instructor of ilyo Barossa. We enjoy a strong connection with our sister club ilyo Barossa
ilyo appreciates strong local community support and continues to mentor our youth to be the best they can be.

At ilyo we teach traditional and Olympic style sports tkd in a family friendly environment.
We have affiliations with Sports Tkd Australia, Sports Tkd NSW, Taekwondo clubs in Canberra, ilyo Barossa and Kukkiwon Australia.
Students are provided with opportunity's to compete at local and state level in sparring and poomse.
With connections to Canberra clubs, ilyo students can grade in Bongsul and weapondary with the Grandmaster Cho.
ilyo also provides specialized self empowerment and management courses for teenagers at risk of or suffering from anxiety and depression.
ilyo tkd follows the 5 tenets of Taekwondo being courtesy, integrity, indomitable spirit, perseverance and self-control.
We believe that with commitment and consistency, each student will learn these values in their own time.
ilyo endeavors to pass on lifelong physical, technical and life skills, which lead to self-confidence, motivation and self-determination.
We believe that all ilyo students learn and train at their own pace so many opportunities for self development are provided regardless of any physical or mental afflictions.
Students train on mats, have access to full safety gear and are fully insured against injury.
With classes catered to all levels everyone is welcome and supported.
